How to Play Football Wordle

Guess the daily mystery football player in 8 tries using clues about their Name, Club, Position, Country, Age, and Height.

🎯 Objective

Each day, there's a new mystery football player to identify. Type player names to make guesses, and use the color-coded feedback to narrow down the answer.

1️⃣ Making a Guess

Type a current football player's name in the search box (e.g., "Cristiano Ronaldo", "Lionel Messi", "Kylian Mbappé"). As you type, a dropdown shows matching players with their photo and club. Select a player and click Guess (or press Enter). You have 8 guesses total.

2️⃣ Reading the Color Clues

After each guess, a new row appears showing that player's info across 6 categories. Each tile is color-coded:

🟢 Name, Club, Position, Country:

  • Green – Exact Match! The mystery player shares this attribute (same club, position, or country).
  • Gray – No Match. The mystery player has a different value.

🔢 Age Column (Special):

  • Green number – Same age! The mystery player is the exact same age.
  • Number with ↑ – The mystery player is OLDER than your guess. (Guess again with an older player.)
  • Number with ↓ – The mystery player is YOUNGER than your guess. (Guess again with a younger player.)

📏 Height Column (Special):

  • Green – Exact match! Same height as the mystery player.
  • Yellow/Orange – Close! Within 5cm (about 2 inches) of the mystery player's height.
  • Gray – Not close. More than 5cm difference.

3️⃣ Strategy Tips

  • Start broad: Guess a well-known player from a major club to get initial clues.
  • Use green tiles: If Club is green, the answer plays for that club. If Position is green, focus on players in that position.
  • Use Age arrows: If you guess "25 ↑", try someone older (28, 30, etc.). If "32 ↓", try someone younger.
  • Height matters: Yellow height means you're very close! Adjust by just 1-5cm.
  • Country clue: Green country narrows it down significantly to players from that nation.
